October 2, 2008 -- Recent Processing of Data on WJ 1 Shows Possibility of Third Reservoir
The following is the most recent communication between Bret Boteler, President of EnerMax, Inc and Justin Solomon of Seisma Oil Research, LLC relative to the West Janice #1 Joint Venture Project:
Partners,
The completion rig arrived on the West Janice #1 location this weekend and our production tubing arrived on Monday. Most of the day Monday was spent on preliminary work for yesterday's field operations.
Yesterday we drilled out the DV tool and cleaned the well down to 11,410', then shut down for the day. We had a problem with a high pressure hose that caused us some delays. Today we will wash down to 11,450', circulate the hole clean, spot citric acid over Zone 3 of the Devonian, run the CBL (cement bond log), gamma ray and collar locater.
Thursday will be the day that we perforate Zone 3 of the Devonian and begin to flow test the well.
I also wanted to give everyone a bit of good news. During the last three weeks our technical team has continuously evaluated our electric log and has come to the conclusion that:
1) Zone 1 of the Devonian log section is the first porosity section of the Devonian
2) Zone 2 is the second porosity section of the Devonian
3) Zone 3 is either a secondary section of the second porosity zone or a third porosity section of the Devonian (which would be considered a new field discovery).
I would like to remind everyone that there is a possibility that Zone 3 will be water saturated to a level beyond commercial production. However, it is prudent to test the zone and flow test it to be certain. If we feel the water saturation is too high we will set a cast iron bridge plug and cement it off (which will allow us to produce it simultaneously with Zone 1 & Zone 2 a later date). Zone 2 & Zone 1 will be perforated immediately after Zone 3 is tested and will be produced simultaneously.
Based on the most recent technical evaluation, our team is confident that our proprietary filtering process is very accurate, as we have clearly identified the first and second porosity sections of the Devonian, with a possibility that we may have found an unknown third porosity section in the area. I would like to commend my technical team for their hard work and efforts in getting this exploration and development play off to a great start.
I have attached yesterday's completion report and will keep you posted as information becomes available from the field.
Regards,
Bret Boteler
President
